THE DRAWING OF THE LIGHT

Ricardo Santonja

Thursday 18th of May

This action is based on designing the initial idea of architectural thinking with light. It is a pedagogical action that goes back to a primitive, intuitive state of looking always in a new way. It allows us to see the world in slow motion and enjoy the forms that result from a total disinhibition.

It is the photographic technique historically based on the so-called "Luminograms" whose etymological meaning is "painting with the light". Also known as Light Painting, is the result of using a slow exposure speed in a camera located in a space in low light and through an operator-directed light that translates into light object movements on the camera sensor. The strokes that are generated in this way allow to create forms and it is the author who controls the time and the space to interpret.

PROGRAMME

It is an extremely simple action to perform. In a dark space with Led lamps, the attendees will participate in shifts making different drawings of light, captured with a camera. In the same space we will download the photographs made and we will see them on the screen. The action concludes with a general reflection of the product.
